a)What had happened to the Rainbow Prince?
A. A wicked witch had cast a spell on the Rainbow Prince. He was asleep while his life was imprisoned inside a red parrot. However the bird had flown away. Unless the bird was found, the Prince would not awaken.
b)    Why did Princess Rupanjali order all the birds to be trapped? Do you think that she was right in doing so? 
A.Princess Rupanjali wanted to marry the Rainbow Prince whose life was
imprisoned inside a ruby red parrot. But the bird had flown away, unless the
bird was found, the Prince would not awaken. The Princess ordered all the
birds in the kingdom to be trapped and put in a bird prison, so that she could
find the red parrot and thus marry the Rainbow Prince. She was not right in
imprisoning the birds.

 c.Why was Nilanjana imprisoned?
A.Nilanjana was imprisoned because she had dared to stand up to her mistress and tell her that what she was doing was selfish, and that she could not take away the birds’ freedom for the sake of her happiness.
d) Why did Nilanjana set the little red bird free?
A. A little red bird requested Nilanjana to set it free because the chains had
bruised its feathers. The bird feared that it could no longer fly and it was
shivering. Tender hearted Nilajana could not bear to see the bird in pain; she
broke its chains and set it free.
e) What happened at the waterfalls?
A. Princess Rupanjali ordered Nilanjana to be pushed into the waterfall because
she had set the red parrot free. As the guards pushed her into the waterfall,
she did not feel the icy cold waters, instead she found herself in the arms of a handsome Prince who set her down and introduced himself as the Rainbow Prince.
f) Why do you think the Rainbow Prince called Nilanjana the true Rainbow Princess?
A.The Rainbow Prince called Nilanjana the Rainbow Princess because of her
loyalty, kindness and bravery. She had exhibited the true qualities of a

princess.
